How testing works, answers to common questions, and how to reach a person.
How testing works
Three plain steps. The app keeps count of the days and doses so you don’t have to.
-
Start with clean days
Eat only from your safe list for a few days, so your gut settles and you have a baseline.
-
Test one group at a time
Add one food group in small, rising amounts. A quick check-in takes about fifteen seconds.
-
See your results
Each group ends as pass, limited or fail, decided by rules you can read.
Common questions
- What do the AI helpers do, and what don’t they do?
-
Three parts of BellyLogic use AI to save you typing. The AI food analyzer estimates the likely ingredients and portion of a food you describe or photograph. The AI label reader turns a photo of a label into an ingredient list. “Questions about your results” explains your test results in plain words.
The AI only supplies information. The verdict for a food, Yes, Caution or No, always comes from fixed rules and your own settings. An AI estimate is marked as an estimate, and you can correct it. None of it is medical advice. All three helpers are optional, and you can use the app without them.
- What is a clean day?
- A day when you eat only foods that pass your rules. A few in a row give you a calm baseline to compare against, so that when you start testing a group you can tell a reaction from ordinary ups and downs.
- Why only one group at a time?
- If two groups change at once, you can’t tell which one caused a reaction. One at a time keeps the answer clear. It is slower, but the result means something.
- What does a reaction mean?
-
A reaction is a symptom you log after eating, such as bloating, pain or a change in your bowels. The app reads each reaction against the meals you logged before it and the group you are testing. One reaction on its own proves little: a bad night’s sleep or stress can do the same. The pattern across clean days and tests is what counts, and that is what BellyLogic helps you see.
BellyLogic helps you notice patterns; it is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian about symptoms that are severe, new, or include bleeding or weight loss.
- What does Caution mean?
-
Every check ends in one of three answers, each shown as a word and a symbol: Yes, Caution or No.
Caution means the food is neither a clear Yes nor a clear No under your rules. Usually the amount matters: an ingredient you have marked as limited is present, so a small portion may be fine and a larger one may not. Treat Caution as “check the portion and your own rules”, not as a pass.
- Where does restaurant data come from?
- Restaurant menu data comes from each chain’s own published nutrition guide. BellyLogic checks those items the same way it checks anything else. Recipes change and guides lag behind, so when it matters, ask at the counter too.
- Does the app work offline?
- The food log works offline, so you can log a meal anywhere. The AI helpers send what you give them to an AI service, so they need a connection.
- Which iPhones does it work on?
- BellyLogic is for iPhone and needs iOS 17 or later.
- How do I delete my data?
-
You can delete your account from Settings in the app. That removes your food log, test results and rules from your account. Deleting the app from your phone removes the copy stored on the device.
If you cannot get into the app, email support@bellylogic.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete the account for you. The privacy policy says what is stored and where.

We answer within a few days. There is no live chat and no phone line.
It helps if you include:
- Which iPhone you have and which version of iOS it is running.
- What you were doing and what you expected to happen.
- A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.
Please don’t email anything you would rather keep private, such as your full food log. We only need enough to find the problem.
